Although Florida is well-known for its excellent saltwater fishing, the state’s excellent freshwater fishing has yet to attract the same level of attention. Residents of this state are aware, however, that Collier County is home to three very active freshwater clubs.

Tourists and out-of-state bass fishermen are welcome to stay here because of the amenities and lodging available. Boats and equipment can be rented, which is very convenient for travelers.

Anglers sometimes have a difficult time deciding where to fish in Florida because there are over 7,500 lakes to choose from. The importance of taking into account the lakes cannot be overstated. The following list of Top Bass Fishing Areas with Bass Fishing Rentals is intended to assist anglers in locating a quality location where they can catch large numbers of bass or a trophy bass.

The St. Johns River has many natural lakes, including Lake George. It has a lot of vegetation, which makes it a great place for bass to live. Wade fishing with plastic worms fished on the surface and other top water artificial lures in eelgrass is effective. During the spring spawning season, fishing with live shiners is an excellent way to catch trophy bass.

  • Stick Marsh Reservoir

Anglers can find bass in a variety of habitats throughout the reservoir, including woody stump fields, submerged canals, and hydrilla. Hurricanes in the summer of 2004 drastically reduced hydrilla levels throughout the reservoir, affecting where bass can be found. When trying to pattern fish, anglers should keep this in mind. Topwater propeller baits, plastic worms, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, soft jerkbaits, and spinnerbaits are all effective. Anglers looking to catch a trophy fish should target wild golden shiners.

  • Lake tohopekaliga

During the early spring, most anglers here target trophy bass with live golden shiners. Shiners are caught near native vegetation or topped-out hydrilla near the beach. Quality-sized bass can also be caught with plastic baits (worms, crawfish, and lizards) flipped along grass edges, hydrilla, and bulrush. At times, spinnerbaits, soft jerkbaits, and chugging baits can be very effective.

The Everglades are a series of marshlands in south Florida intersected by over 200 miles of canals. Rather than fishing in the marsh, most anglers prefer to fish in the canals. Anglers use plastic worms, soft jerkbaits, and minnow imitations to fish the canal edges. Another popular technique is to flip the vegetation.

Other equipment can also be rented for your own convenience and ease. There are also numerous lodges and inns, as well as cabins, that can be rented for a weekend or longer.
